The enigmatic Dane Mr Cortzen pays NOK 800,000 to be named Liberia’s ambassador to one of Africa’s least successful states. He travels there and sets up the embassy in a hotel suite. Gin & tonics, champagne, cigars and money flow freely.
Officially, Mr Cortzen is a philanthropic businessman and factory owner who intends to provide schools and jobs for the poverty-stricken local population. The truth is that he has come to fill his suitcases with blood diamonds. But Cortzen is not like the other diplomats; he secretly films his new life, inviting us on a risky but entertaining odyssey into a dark and dangerous universe.
